Co-creation event in Reggio Calabria (IT)
Date : 16-01-2019
The second event “Community Co-creation Event” took place in Reggio Calabria (Italy) on January 16, 2019 at the Altiero Spinelli Hall.
The meeting began with the introduction of the “MFCLUBS” project and its objectives. The meeting was attended by some public officials of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria (the Councilor of the Department of Educational Policies and the Guarantor of the Rights of Childhood and Adolescence). Other interventions on the “Psychological aspects of foreign language learning among children” and on the “inclusive, plurilingual and intercultural school: teaching perspectives” followed.
Some project results were shown to the participants in the pilot version (IO2 output – IO3 and IO4). The manuals presented are already in an attractive graphic version.
In particular, the presentation of the IO2 manual was much appreciated, thanks to its easy form of consultation and the innovative nature of some activities for children.
The presentation was very successful among pre-school and elementary school teachers, school managers, NGOs working with immigrants and foreign citizens. Multilingualism is a topic of great interest for nursery schools and primary schools, since in the Calabrian region there are several immigrant families and the school has become a multicultural system. Most of the participants declared their objective to monitor the further development of the project results on the website, FB, etc. Moreover, from the questionnaires on the satisfaction of the event all the participants (71.4% completely agree) declared themselves willing to spread the experience of the event with other people.
